Electroplating driver water cooled
CRS produce high-frequency switch mode rectifier power supplies used in metal finishing and plating, welding, and battery formation.
The project was dimensioning and design of a liquid cooling system for galvanic electronic equipment.
Thermal tests with the Studio own equipment were performed.
Additionally it was found and applied a solution for a multi-metallic corrosion problem.
I’ve implemented the liquid cooling system, with cold plates electrically insulated. The cold cooling liquid was provided by a chiller.

The cold plates was dimensioned hydraulic (pressure drop) by excel, and other calculations, thermal (thermal resistance) with excel and Cosmos DesignStar. A thermal model by the resistance method was build, to transfer the solution to an array of products with an excel spreadsheet.
The component to be cooled was mainly IGBT and diodes with Pt=1500 W, Tmax=70°C @ 10 l/m 19,5°C per module. Up to 4 module can be implemented in the same machine.
